Flea & Tick Control
Beyond just being a nuisance, fleas and ticks pose a significant health risk for those who are bitten by them. In addition to carrying and spreading Lyme disease, ticks are known to transmit viruses that cause encephalitis (swelling of the brain).
Being most active from early spring into late summer, fleas and ticks can grow to a population where they are an ever-present threat to homeowners. Beyond this, they can still be active well into the winter months. As such, it is important to get their populations under control early on, as fleas and ticks can reproduce very quickly, taking over an entire landscape in a short amount of time. Naturally Green’s flea and tick spray treatment for your yard can do just that.
Tick Bite Prevention – & Safe Tick Removal
Most ticks get on to a human body by crawling there – in most cases, by getting onto the body and crawling into the hair region of the host. As such, what we wear is one of the best ways to avoid a tick taking up residence on our bodies. Making sure our skin and head is covered when we are in a woody or brushy area can keep ticks away. Also, applying a permethrin tick repellent to your clothing adds an extra layer of protection.
But what if you get a tick on your body? To safely remove a tick, use a fine-tipped pair of tweezers to grasp the tick as close to the surface of the skin as possible. Applying steady pressure, remove the whole body of the tick – including the mouth parts. After removal, wash the entire area with rubbing alcohol or an iodine scrub.
